How Long do you play for?
Usually we play 2x 1hr sets, as we find this works best for both the audience and the band. However, we are happy to tailor the set to your requirements, it is after all your event. This can all be sorted out well in advance and will be incorporated into the terms of the contract when you recieve it.Can you supply backing music before/after your set?
Yes, we can play CD's while the band is not playing. However, many clients these days prefer to play their own selection of music by plugging an mp3 player through our PA system.
What is the band line up?
Funk Soul Sister is a six-piece band comprising of Drums, Bass Guitar, Guitar (with backing vocals), Keyboards, Female Backing Vocal, Female Lead Vocal.
Is the band we hear on the recordings the band we get?
As often as possible we always play with the same line-up, and the earlier you book the band the more likely it is that all the band members will be available. As with any band of this calibre, the musicians that we use are always in demand, so we have a select pool of professional players and vocalists that we can use when we need to.
Do you play requests?
Any requests for tunes from our repertoire must be made at least four weeks before the event. This is so we can incorporate them into the sets beforehand and make sure everyone is familiar with the parts.How long does it take for you to set up and soundcheck?
The minimum time we require to fully set up and soundcheck is 1 hour.How far are the band willing to travel?
There is no limit to where the band will travel to, but be aware that if the band need to stay overnight, then additional accommodation/fuel/time costs will have to be factored into the overall price.What do you wear on stage?
The backing band dress in black shirt and trousers, with the girls up front wearing more colourful outfits to stand out from the crowd.
Do you supply a written contract?
Yes. Once all the details have been agreed, we incorporate them into our contract and send out two copies to you. These must be signed, and one of them returned with the deposit to confirm the booking.
Do you take a deposit?
Yes. We take a 20% non-refundable deposit to secure the booking.
Are you fully insured and PAT tested?
Yes. We have Public Liability Insurance up to £5m and all our equipment is PAT tested.
How big does the stage need to be?
The minimum size of stage required is 16' x 10'.
Do the band have any requirements?
The band require reasonable access for equipment to be loaded/unloaded, 4x 240V mains sockets within 5m of the stage, a secure room for changing/storing cases and belongings, a square meal for band and sound crew (at least 1 hr before performance), and free soft drinks.
